Following a successful year of deal activity, the Japanese M&A market in 2022 sees no signs of abating. Indeed, according to Dealogic data, Japan saw a deal volume of over $100 billion in 2021, and it is expected that outbound, inbound, domestic and PE-related M&A activity will continue on an upwards trajectory in 2022. Cross-border transformative M&A deals are also on the rise, with more regional corporates reshaping their portfolios.
