Institutional investors fill activism gap in Europe

“Institutional investors are more active now than ever before. In the U.K., executive pay continues to dominate the agendas for investors as they are under increasing pressure from their clients as well as the public to hold management of underperforming companies accountable for failures. As a result, investors have less tolerance toward sharp increases in pay packages of executives in cases of poor financial performances,” commented Reza Eftekhari from Morrow Sodali on Pensions & Investments.

Mr. Eftekhari also added that "the number of activist campaigns across Europe continues to be steady, and in particular, activism in M&A situations will likely increase over the next 12 months.”
