Funds and investors ready for the annual general meeting season with a focus on remuneration policies
In an article published in L'Economia - Il Corriere della Sera, Andrea Di Segni, Morrow Sodali’s Managing Director, comments about the upcoming proxy season, considering the impact of the pandemic, the decisions on the top management remuneration, as well as the need of a more multisectoral approach, not just financial but integrated with ESG factors.
"Based on these priorities, listed companies and their boards of directors will face a complex shareholder campaign that requires a robust investor engagement program," underlines Di Segni. Governance experts expect a year of constant shareholder engagement, where investor will evaluate the companies against multiple factors, i.e. more balanced remuneration policies, in line with financial and non-financial performance and target, and the inclusion of ESG parameters, both in Italy and abroad.
