Susy is Managing Director - Head of M&A and Proxy Advisory Group - Canada and based in our Toronto office.  Prior to Morrow Sodali's acquisition of Gryphon Advisors, Susy was the Executive Vice President at Gryphon with approximately 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Susy is one of the first Canadian proxy solicitation experts in Canada, she is a  “pioneer”  who helped develop and build a fledging proxy solicitation industry that is now an integral part of the Canadian capital markets and has held several senior positions throughout her career.

Susy has participated in a majority of Canada’s major M&A mandates, leading and overseeing the operational procedures while structuring mergers and acquisitions and proxy programs to achieve client objectives and goals. Susy is highly respected in the Canadian legal community for her involvement and noteworthy success for many of Canada’s high-profile friendly and hostile transactions.

Susy also has extensive knowledge of security processing, proxy tabulation and depository services and is called upon frequently for her market insight and reputable expertise.   Having been  requested by the Canadian Securities Administrators to participate in industry discussions on addressing proxy voting matters, Susy  continues to advocate for improvements in the voting system and will continue to advise her clients on the many pitfalls that await uninformed Issuers when it comes to voting of proxies of Canadian companies. Susy has also provided testimony as an expert witness when called upon to explain to the judiciary the inner workings of the Canadian proxy system.

Susy completed the Trust Companies Institute Program and is a member of Women in Capital Markets (WCM), Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) and  Governance Professional of Canada  (GPC).
