Brett specialises in strategic communication, issues management, business innovation and capital markets transactions. His career has spanned accounting, journalism, investment banking, consulting and corporate advisory.
Brett spent more than two decades in senior executive and editorial roles in the media industry, responsible for some of Australia’s leading news brands including The Australian Financial Review, where he rose from cadet journalist to the position of CEO and Publisher, as well as The Australian and The Daily Telegraph. Brett was a Group Executive at both News Corp Australia and Fairfax Media (now Nine Entertainment).
Brett holds a Bachelor of Business (B.Bus) and a Master of Commerce in Advanced Finance (M.Com). He is Trustee of The Australian Museum, former Chair of Sydney Dance Company, non-executive director of Hipages Group and Council Member of the University of Technology Sydney.
Brett is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).
