Intesa Sanpaolo Acquires UBI Banca SpA

Intesa Sanpaolo (MI: ISP), an Italian corporate bank, acquired UBI Banca SpA, an Italian retail bank, for $5.3 billion. This transaction created the second largest banking group in Italy.
