Establishing long-term client relationships has been the primary driver for me throughout my career at Morrow Sodali. Having the ability to adapt to the ever-changing governance landscape and successfully advising clients on that front is extremely rewarding. There are a number of clients that I have personally worked with my entire career at Morrow Sodali. That is a testament to the exceptional service we continue to provide to all our clients.
Value creation begins with a drive to improve service clients and understand the current landscape. It also means you need to be forward looking at what pitfalls may lie ahead and to seize opportunities as they materialize. Keeping clients informed of developing trends and providing solutions is the best way for us to continue to add value to our clients.
ESG initiatives are a major factor for issuers on many levels. Each business sector has to face its own set of unique challenges. These concerns are ever increasing and becoming more mainstream for all issuers, especially those that are high profile and underperformers. Issuers need to be thoughtful, knowledgeable and comfortable with decisions they may implement as the “bar” will continue to be raised in the future. Morrow Sodali can share our research and experiences with others to make these important initiatives responsible to all parties who have a stake in the Company, from employees to shareholders and the community.
Globalization/interconnectivity will continue to dominate the business landscape in the years to come. Corporations utilize resources from around the globe and these resources are constantly subjected to a host on events, from supply chain disruptions to open hostilities among nations. Focused attention needs to be applied to areas of potential risks to avoid these disruptions. We need to better understand local customs and processes in order to be able to assist our clients in successfully navigating these challenges well into the future. Being a global company offers all of us the opportunity to share ideas and processes that can be successfully implemented to assist everyone.
Technology enables us to better analyze trends, see what processes work and alter those that are not enabling us to provide the services our clients need, on a timely basis. Workloads continue to increase and demands for faster, accurate information continues to challenge us on a daily basis. By adapting new processes and utilizing technology, we will be in a much better position to analyze and develop the processes that may be needed to advance our product offerings and continue to strengthen our brand.
The ability to be a premium provider of a wide variety of service offerings will be essential for our continued growth as we move into our sixth decade. Communication tools and strategies are becoming easier and more complex at the same time. Education has always been the best way to extend awareness of developing trends, while our decades of experience allow us to provide the solutions that will fuel our growth well into the future.
Morrow Sodali allows individuals to collaborate independently with many industry experts to enhance our understanding of events and trends in our industry. This exposure and constant sharing of new information allows all of us to become experts in our field. Most importantly, this allows individuals to deal directly with clients who have real life experiences and have gained knowledge that separate us from our competitors. I get satisfaction from knowing that our clients value our input, and the best acknowledgement of this is our client retention rate. A number of clients have been with us for over thirty years, and one of our original clients, who joined us back in 1972 is still a client today. That is a testament to the value they see in our services over an extended period of time.
